The Star Inn is a proper old-fashioned English country pub, the kind you thought had disappeared forever. It is located on the southern edge of the village of Wenhaston in east Suffolk, 4 miles from the inland town of Halesworth and 7 miles from the coastal town of Southwold. We have been here since 2009 becoming a Free House in 2012. We have created a vibrant, welcoming pub where we hope our customers feel comfortable.
Our pub garden, possibly one of the largest in the area, has stunning views across the Blyth valley. We have plenty of seating so there will undoubtedly be room for you when you visit. We think we have created a little oasis of calm in which to relax at any time of day.
We have a varied selection of fresh beers and ciders, popular lagers and stout. Wine, fizz and spirits are always in stock.
Food is served between noon and 2.30pm and again from 6 until 8pm Tuesday to Saturday.
We typically have up to four Cask Ales available, generally sourced from local breweries.
Green Jack's Golden Best is our house ale and we try to cater for all tastes so will
have a selection across a range of ABV's. We also serve a selection of two traditional ciders and perries.
We typically hold two beer festivals each year, taking place over May and August bank holiday weekends..

Our kitchen opens, Tuesday to Saturday, from Noon to 2:30pm and from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.

The Star Inn was purpose-built as a beer house in 1841 and has served both villagers and
visitors continuously since that time.
The characterful front bar, extended in the
1880s, is adorned with old enamel advertising signs and other rural and bygone ephemera.
We've maintained the English country pub tradition well enough to have won the Rural Pub of the Year award from the North East Suffolk branch of CAMRA, the Campaign for Real Ale, more than once and most recently in 2019.
But we've moved with the times too and you'll find that our Card Payment machine will accept all cards (except American Express)
We're dog owners ourselves and we welcome your four-legged friends to The Star too.
